Places to visit in South Africa

South Africa is a land of endless tourist attractions. A single holiday spent in this beautiful country will never be enough to visit all the unique and exotic places. From wild safaris to dives with white sharks and from winery trails to scenic beaches, you can encounter ceaseless chances of spending your free time. Here are just a few destinations that you should not miss on your trip.

Visit the Kruger National Park

This large patch of protected wildlife and natural resources is located on the north borders of South Africa. A trip here will present you with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see African wilderness in all its beauty. Years of extensive efforts have managed to maintain a dense population of animal species and the preservation of local flora. The good thing about Kruger National Park is that if you feel adventurous enough, you can even organize self-driving expeditions.

Cape Town – the jewel of South Africa

If you prefer urban culture to wildlife safaris, then Cape Town should top the list of your favorite destinations in South Africa. This is the oldest city in the country and a well-developed metropolis that welcomes millions of tourists year round. A walk through the city streets will amaze you with the rich multicultural diversity. A trip outside the city limits will present you with hidden beaches and long strips of chalk-white shores that link the tall, rocky peaks of nearby mountains.

Whale-watching in Hermanus

This location on the southern coast of the continent is a recurrent destination for whale-watching amateurs. This is one of the fewest places on Earth where you can observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat without leaving the land. The biggest mammals in the world swim very close to the shores of South Africa to feed on the easy prey found there. You can safely admire them from a 6-mile long promenade filled with telescopes and special viewpoints.
